I like things that have an end.

I don't know whether it's a trait of addicts or not, but (like the title of the post says) I like things that have an actual end.
Dontcha hate it when you can't get the
door to stay closed?

It's often said that when one door closes another one opens, but it's a bitch standing in the hallway.  That's very true.

What's even more annoying though is when you can see the hallway, you know the hallway is coming but you can't manage to shut the damned door behind you so you can move to the next door.

I like action.

I like movement.

And, being an addict, I want it NOW!

In all fairness, I've been reasonably patient... for almost 2 years... But it's starting to wear me thin.

I'm so close to shutting the door.  It's like I'm able to close the door but can't get that little latchy thing (what are they called anyway?) to catch so the door stays shut.

Every time I close the door, it doesn't latch and pops right back to ajar again.

I know it'll close.  I know it'll close soon, even.

I'm just tired of the struggle to get the door to shut.

Maybe duct tape.... Duct tape can fix anything, right?

  1. My downstairs bathroom is that way. It's not installed right or something. You latch it and darn if it waits till your trunks are around your ankles until, 'BANG', the darn thing pops open. Very frustrating, especially when you know it's going to happen but have some blind trust that, no, you won't do that to me *this* time.

  2. One of the things I've learned is that fighting with a door that won't shut isn't always going to work. Even though everything in the room looks like it's been placed in order, things are where they should be or can be, and all in all it looks like it does deserve closure. So one of the things I've learned and it does take time: check the door, look for a weak latch, busted hinge, loose screw... and then look around the room - is there a draft that pulls the door open or creates a vacuum down the hallway that will never let that door shut unless you open the other one - and then shut this one. And that... means deep breaths and taking time which can suck when everything else seems done.

  3. No idea what you're talking about, but it's nice to see you make another post. I love to read things from other addicts. I need them and I love them.
