But I don't understand why people bother complaining... I'm an addict. And I don't get it. It's already the weekend, isn't it?

If you're not an addict you're probably saying to yourself, "What????" And you're not gonna understand what I'm about to say either. It's going to sound like I'm telling you that two plus two is a tunafish sandwich. But to an addict, it'll sound perfectly normal.
It's already the weekend, right?
I mean, when we started drinking and using, we saved it for "the weekend". We made a deal with ourselves when we started to drink a lot. We'd only drink Friday and Saturday... And well, maybe Sunday nights (but only if there was a good reason)....
It didn't seem like such a big deal when the weekend, all of a sudden, began on Thursday nights... I mean, our friends were going out.... It's no big deal to tag along...
And if you're going to drink on Thursday, you might as well drink on Wednesday... Gotta celebrate getting through "Hump Day"....
You wouldn't have had a drink on Tuesday, but your co-workers were going out for happy hour and it would have been rude for you to refuse...
Monday is a "hair of the dog that bit you" day for all of the weekend drinking. I mean, how are you supposed to work on Monday with that unbelievable headache and nauseous feeling?
Also, there's Monday Night Football. How're you supposed to watch football without beer?
Really.... You kind of have to...
But, all joking aside, I drank on days that ended in -y. After awhile, it didn't matter at all that I'd put restrictions on myself to keep my drinking only to parties. Or only to the weekend....
Because it's always the weekend to me.
Right? Any other takers?
